I hold an MA in Art Therapy from the University of Hertfordshire
I am state registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
I am also a full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (Baat)
I have been a practicing Art Therapist for 9 years working mainly with children and young people and their families and recently in palliative care and in an end of life setting.
My practice has taken me into mainstream and special educational school settings to work with children and young people. I have had the opportunity to train school staff about attachment as well as mental health and wellbeing .
I have also worked with adoptive families to help to build lasting relationships.
I have experience in setting up an Art Therapy department in a palliative setting. This included informing and educating other health professionals about the efficacy of Art Therapy.
Prior to retraining as an Art Therapist I was a classroom teacher and so have some understanding of how children and young people may be experiencing school.
As a visual artist I create using a variety of media including; textile, paints and glass.
